Why host or attend a retreat?
I help you get the writing done. Reserving time to write is an amazing opportunity. I create a formal, yet fun and engaging, structure to that time. This allows you to finish what you start. Bring any type of research writing at any stage and leave with a stronger more complete document and the motivation and structure to complete the work.
Retreats are best for:
- Proposal teams who are more than two months away from their deadline,
- Early career researchers who are interested in preparing proposal drafts for review prior to submission. This retreat can be especially powerful when connected to a writing cohort model.
- Individual academics who can work well in mixed disciplinary discussion groups.
Immersive Retreats
After years of "war rooms" where proposal teams effectively locked themselves in a room to write, I saw a better way. I lead you through a series of steps that leverage years of accumulated tips and tricks for writing. Immersive retreats add value through connection with other participants, enhancing writing quality. This package is ideal for early-career faculty or individuals who are changing audiences.
Included:
- Template worksheets
- Hands-on instruction, tailored to meet the needs of the participants
- Facilitated peer-feedback
- 1:1 review of drafts and coaching
- Post-workshop plans, including how to design and lead effective reviews of your work
- Up to 2 hours of post-retreat virtual consultation for each participant
Add ons:
- Up to 10 hours of post-retreat virtual consultation for each participant ($2,000 per person)
- Hosting a 1-hour external expert review and virtual debrief ($5,000 per review)
Deliverables:
- Worksheet templates to use for any research writing
Pricing:
- $10,000 for 15 hours of workshop (1.5 days), up to 15 participants
- Travel and accommodations are invoiced separately and not included in the total
- Add on packages are priced separately
Virtual and Hybrid Retreats
Virtual retreats take advantage of staying in place to write. This increase in efficient use of time allows you to get more done! I provide the same facilitated workshop as my on-site offering, but optimize design. However, this workshop does not include peer reviews or individual coaching during the session.
